The History of ABC

The Austrian Ballet Company first performed under the direction of Christian Martinu in 1995. In the years since, ABCfs repertory has included Giselle, Cho Cho San, The Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Viennese Waltzes, Moses, and several productions designed especially for children, such as Urashima Taro and Alice in Wonderland. |
The company has toured in Japan, and internationally, in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Brazil, China, the US, and in 2005 in Australia for the first time.

The Austrian Ballet Tokyo will present authentic Viennese Waltzes and Polkas.
Rio Mitani who studied the unique Waltz-Ballet method (Wiesenthal technique) taught only at the Vienna State Opera Ballet School, will create original works especially for this gorgeous event.
