Prof. Evelyn Téri, born in Budapest, lives and works in Vienna, Austria.
After graduating with honors at the Hungarian State Ballet School and studied with legendary teachers like Boris Kniaseff, Olga Lepeschinskaya, Marika Besobrasova, Anne Wooliams and Victor Gsovsky.
As international soloist Evelyn performed in Hungary, Germany, France, Japan and South America and worked with John Cranko, George Balanchine, Anton Dolin, Gyula Harangozo, Peter van Dyck, Horst Müller and danced principal parts in all classical ballets like Giselle, Swan Lake, La Sylphide, Coppelia, Don Quijote, La fille mal gardee, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, etc.
She was also ballet teacher in Musikhochschule Mannheim, principal teacher for ballet, artistic project director and a professor at the Conservatory Vienna (now the Music and Art Private University of Vienna), Accademia Nationale di Danza in Roma and Conservatoire Ljubljana, as well as teacher for ballet, character dance and repertory, giving classes and workshops for companies. She is curator for classical dance at Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera.
Evelyn Teri choreographed the ballets: Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Swan Lake and the Vienna Opera Ball for the Wiener Staatsballet.
She was Executive Director at Vienna’s International Ballet and Dance Competition, ÖTR-Austrian Dance Council and Correspondent for Dance Magazine, New York Ballet Journal, Germany Danceart, Budapest, Hungary.
